Composition
Bigia is an extrait de parfum from Tiziana Terenzi's Anniversary Collection, launched in 2016 and composed by Paolo Terenzi. It pairs a sparkling saffron, red fruits and passionfruit opening with a rose, musk, magnolia and white orchid heart, over a base of agarwood, white oud, amber and sand. Unisex and opulent, it is a fruity-floral oud in the house's grand, high-projection style.
The opening is electric — juicy red fruits and passionfruit with a warm saffron glow, like a fruit chaat sprinkled with exotic spice. Then the roses bloom, lush and full, while the oud hums underneath, smooth rather than barnyard, adding depth and a faint smokiness. The dry-down is warm amber and soft musk with that dry, mineral 'sand' note that makes it feel sun-baked and expensive. It projects strongly for hours, so go easy on the trigger — two sprays will fill a room. Not a beginner's first niche purchase; the saffron-oud combination is bold, so try a sample before committing to a bottle.
