Composition
Beach Hut Man is a woody-aromatic eau de parfum for men by Elise Benat, launched in 2017. It opens with mint, galbanum and orange blossom, develops ivy, moss and vetiver in the heart, and settles into woody notes, myrrh and patchouli.
To me this is a jungle that swallowed a chapel. Crushed mint and bitter galbanum snap green at the start, orange blossom flashing pale, then the ivy closes over you, moss underfoot, vetiver roots tangling in dark earth. Myrrh burns somewhere distant like luban smoke through trees, and patchouli grounds it all in damp soil. It is green the way deep forest is green, not fresh, but alive, decaying, sacred. Peaceful and mysterious at once. People expecting a beach scent will be confused; people expecting the wild will be home. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
