Composition
Mugler's first major women's launch since Womanity, created in 2017 by Daphné Bugey, Amandine Clerc-Marie, Christophe Raynaud, Marie Salamagne and Olivier Cresp. Rhubarb leaf and bergamot open the scent, orange blossom and tiger liana form the heart, and bourbon vanilla with wolfwood — a new silky enveloping wood — ground the base. It comes in a faceted green heart-shaped flacon with a metallic M.
To me this smells like crushing rhubarb stalks in a botanical garden after rain — green, sour, vegetal, completely unlike anything in a normal perfume aisle. Bergamot brightens it for a moment, then orange blossom and tiger liana pull it into the jungle, and bourbon vanilla tries to tame the whole wild thing at the base. It is bold, botanical, and famously divisive. I admire it enormously. But the first ten minutes are a test of character, and beginners should know what they are signing up for. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
