Composition
At the Barber's is a masculine eau de toilette from Maison Margiela, launched in 2013. It opens with Basil, Bitter Orange and Black Pepper. The heart reveals Lavender, Rosemary and Geranium settling into a base of White Musk, Moss, Leather and Tonka Bean. Its character is defined by Fresh Spicy, Aromatic and Lavender accords.
To me this smells like the best barbershop in the city — the one with the brass chairs and the straight razors. Basil and rosemary and lavender, herbal and clean; bitter orange and black pepper, sharp as a fresh cut; geranium green and crisp. White musk and moss underneath, like a hot towel and a clean cape; leather, just a whisper, from the strop; tonka warming it like the end of a good shave. It's grooming as ritual — precise, comforting, masculine. The smell of leaving sharper than you arrived. Beginner-friendly.
