Composition
Shades by Armaf is an eau de parfum for men. It opens with Violet Leaf, Bergamot, Pineapple, Cardamom, Plum and Lime; the heart features Cedar Needles, Rosemary, Geranium, Jasmine and Sage; and the base is Cedar, Ambergris, White Musk, Sandalwood and Patchouli. The composition reads predominantly woody, aromatic and citrus.
To me this smells like a cedar forest after rain — green, cool, and endlessly deep. Violet leaf, bergamot, pineapple, cardamom, plum and lime open in a bright, complex burst, like sunlight breaking through wet canopy in a dozen colours at once. It is freshness with layers. Cedar needles, rosemary, geranium, jasmine and sage deepen the heart — aromatic, herbal, alive, like the forest floor breathing — and cedar, ambergris, white musk, sandalwood and patchouli settle underneath, woody and warm and enduring as old growth. It smells like shade you can wear: cool, composed, and quietly powerful. Beginner-friendly.
