Dirham Oud is a 2021 Oriental Woody Eau de Parfum from Ard Al Zaafaran, the deeper flanker of the fresh Dirham. It pairs a bright bergamot-citrus-raspberry opening with a sandalwood-rose-lavender heart over woods, agarwood, amber, white musk and cedar. Despite the name, oud plays a supporting role — this is a warm, wearable oriental-woody rather than a heavy oud bomb.
The opening is a fizzy citrus-raspberry sparkle, like cutting into a fresh kinnow — bright, almost playful. Then the woods roll in: creamy sandalwood, soft rose, clean lavender, settling into a warm bed of amber, cedar and a restrained thread of smoky oud. It smells expensive for its price, the kind of scent that fills a winter wedding hall without shouting. In peak Indian summer it may feel a touch warm; it shines October to March. Beginners: approachable and safe — the oud here is a whisper, not a roar.
