Composition
Oudh Adam by Al Haramain is an eau de parfum for men, launched in 2000. It opens with Saffron, Nutmeg and Lavender; the heart features Agarwood (Oud); and the base is Patchouli and Musk. The composition reads predominantly oud, warm spicy and woody.
To me this is oud in its purest form — saffron and nutmeg and lavender like the door to the temple, then agarwood, dark and ancient and completely uncompromising. The base is patchouli and musk, earthy and warm, like the stone floor. It is the first man and the first wood: no flowers, no sweetness, just oud. Biblical in its simplicity, overwhelming in its power. Lavender stands at the temple door, cool and herbal. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
