Composition
Mystique Homme by Al Haramain is an eau de parfum for men, launched in 2000. It opens with Bergamot, Elemi, Orange and Lavender; the heart features Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Mint Leaves; and the base is Musk, Tobacco and Gaiac Wood. The composition reads predominantly citrus, woody and tobacco.
To me this is a mystery in a well-cut suit — bergamot and elemi and orange and lavender bright as a first impression, then jasmine and orange blossom and mint leaves, fresh and intriguing, like a smile with a secret. The base is musk and tobacco and gaiac wood, warm and smoky, the truth revealed. It is mystique, bottled: citrus, tobacco, and quiet confidence. A gentleman with a past. Elemi glows resinous and lemony through the spice. Tobacco smoulders quietly in the tailored base. Beginner-friendly.
