Composition
Amber Oud Private Edition by Al Haramain is an eau de parfum unisex, launched in 2023. It opens with Bergamot and Green Notes; the heart features Melon, Sweet Notes, Pineapple, Amber and Cedarwood; and the base is Myrrh, Resins, Musk, Vanilla and Woody Notes. The composition reads predominantly fruity, sweet and amber.
To me this smells like a sweetshop in an old Arabian souk — if the sweetshop also sold amber by the kilo. Bergamot and green notes open bright and fresh, like stepping out of the heat into shade, and then the fruit arrives: melon juicy and cold, pineapple golden, sweet notes piling up like trays of baklava. Amber and cedarwood warm the heart into something rich and glowing, and myrrh, resins, musk, vanilla and woods settle underneath — dark, sweet, and deeply comforting, like the shopkeeper pressing one more sweet into your hand. Despite the oud in the name, this is pure golden sweetness: generous, joyful, impossible to resist. Beginner-friendly.
