Composition
Acqua Originale Iris Tubereuse is a 2014 Eau de Parfum from Creed's Acqua Originale collection, marrying the romance of Tuscany with the sultry allure of India. Galbanum, violet leaf and orange open into Indian tuberose, ylang ylang and lily of the valley, drying down to Sicilian orange blossom, musk and Mexican vanilla orchid. A shimmering, dewy white floral.
Iris Tubereuse opens green and dewy — galbanum and violet leaf like crushed stems, orange adding a juicy brightness — before the Indian tuberose arrives, creamy and narcotic but never heavy, lifted by ylang ylang's custardy sweetness. The vanilla orchid and musk drydown is soft and skin-close, like the scent left on a silk scarf. It is a white floral for people who think they don't like white florals: fresh rather than blowsy. Lovely for Indian spring days and daytime weddings. Beginner-friendly if you enjoy soft florals, though the tuberose demands a little confidence.
