Composition
From Gucci's Alchemist's Garden collection, launched in 2020 and composed by Alberto Morillas. Frangipani opens over tiare flower and ylang-ylang, drying down to vanilla. A tropical white-floral over a vanilla base.
To me this smells like a Goan temple courtyard in May — frangipani falling on hot stone, tiare flower creamy as coconut milk, ylang-ylang heavy and golden in the still air. It's the tropics at their most devotional. The vanilla base is warm and endless, like the stone still holding the day's heat after sunset. There's nothing complicated here — no spice, no smoke, no games — just white flowers doing what white flowers do when nobody's watching: being perfect. Morillas painted a nymph. She smells like this. Beginner-friendly.
