How do you spot fakes when buying from local markets?

Found a ‘deal’ on a popular designer scent at a local market — half the mall price. My gut says fake. What do you all check before buying?

Did the batch code check — did not match anything. Walking away from the ‘deal’. Thanks folks, you saved me ₹3,000.

Also the smell test if they let you spray — fakes usually nail the first 5 minutes and fall apart after. Ask to spray on paper and come back in an hour.

Trust your gut first. Then: batch code (look it up online), the sprayer quality (fakes often have cheap, uneven sprayers), and the box printing (blurry text = walk away).
